Back in Time to Pocatello

Multiple-time National Finals Rodeo qualifying bareback rider Kelly Wardell had an 81-point ride on Calgary Stampede’s Dry Whisky during Round 4 of the 2001 NFR in Las Vegas. The year was 1998 and the event was the Dodge Na tional Circuit Finals Rodeo in March in Pocatello, Idaho. Cowboys who made it to Pocatello in 1998 vied for more than $425,000 in prize money, as well as national titles. The champions of the 1998 DNCFR were as follows: all-around cowboy Brad Go odrich; bareback rider Kelly Wardell; steer wrestler Ricky Huddleston; team ropers Steve Purcella/Steve North cott; saddle bronc rider J.T.
