Stetson Wright shines in victory YOUNG LIVING’S LAST CHANCE RODEO MONA, UTAH
BY TRACY RENCK S tetsonWright’s record-breaking 2022 PRCA regular season didn’t slow down at the Young Living’s Last Chance Rodeo in Mona, Utah, Sept. 23-24. Wright earned a rodeo-best $9,221 in saddle bronc riding and bull riding as he won both events.
He had an 87.5-point ride on Bar T Rodeo’s Lady Vain and collected a $4,681 check. He then won the bull riding with an 88-point ride on Bar T Rodeo’s Skinny, earning $4,540. Wright, a five-time PRCAWorld Champion, three in all-around (2019 21), and one each in bull riding (2020) and saddle bronc riding (2021) will attempt to push that total to eight world crowns when he competes at the 2022Wrangler NFR in December in Las Vegas.
Zeke Thurston tunes up for NFR with win EDMONTON PRORODEO EDMONTON, ALBERTA
Two-time PRCA Saddle Bronc Riding World Champion ZekeThurston tuned up for his eighth trip to the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo presented by Teton Ridge with a win in his home country of Canada. Thurston won the Edmonton Pro Rodeo with a 90-point ride on C5 Rodeo’s Oney. The rodeo, which concluded Sept. 24, was one of the last opportunities for cowboys to win money as the PRCA regular season ended
on Sept. 30.
Thurston earned $2,790 for the victory. He will be aiming to win his third PRCAWorld Championship at the 2022Wrangler NFR to go along with the ones he captured in 2016 and 2019. A year ago, Thurston finished fifth in the PRCA | RAMWorld Standings with $229,329. – Tracy Renck
