CRESTON ASA PICKETT A boy, born July 31, to parents Cullen and Mandy Pickett owners of Pickett Pro Rodeo. Creston weighed 7 pounds and nine ounces and was 20 inches long.

BARNEY FAIRCLOTH

Barney Faircloth, a former PRCA competitor, passed away Sept. 4 at his home in Trenton, Fla. He was 89. Faircloth was born on March 12, 1933, to Marshall and Ella (Kersey)Faircloth in Ocala, Fla. Faircloth was a cattleman, horseman, farmer and his true passion, professional rodeo cowboy. He competed in the PRCA as a tie-down roper, steer wrestler and was a rodeo judge. He traveled the PRCA circuit across the United States. He is perhaps the most recognized cowboy from Florida with six all-around cowboy of Florida titles and three all-around cowboy wins at the Silver Spurs Rodeo in Kissimmee, Fla., in 1964, 1969, and 1971. After retiring from rodeo in the mid 1970s, Faircloth devoted his time to raising beef cattle, hay, farming and spending time with his family and friends. Mr. Barney, as he was referred to by many, will remain forever in our hearts.

Faircloth is survived by his beloved wife of 71 years Mary (Redoutey) Faircloth; daughter Elwanda (Lesley) Gore; sons, Rick and Jonny, daughters-in-law Dianne and Kristin; sisters Audrey Langston and Shelia Thompkins, four grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and a host of extended family and friends.
