Stu Hagen photo The last time saddle bronc rider Spencer Wright competed in California Rodeo Salinas was in 2019 when he earned $5,551. Wright will be back in Salinas for the ProRodeo Tour Finale presented by Pendleton Whisky, Sept. 23-26.

At stake for the participants is a share of the $1 million payout being offered at Salinas, numbers that will surely play a big role in determining who ends the season inside the Top 15 in the PRCA | RAMWorld Standings, earning that trip to Las Vegas for the NFR, and who heads home to regroup for 2022. Two cowboys hoping for a big weekend in Salinas to help move them off the NFR bubble are saddle bronc rider Spencer Wright and tie-down roper Kyle Lucas. How about $1 million and a chance at the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo? For the first time, the ProRodeo Tour Finale presented by PendletonWhisky is being hosted by the California Rodeo in Salinas, Calif., Sept. 23-26. Salinas’ legendary hospitality, complete with the famous strawberries, will be on display as the top contestants from the 2021 ProRodeo Tour will compete for one of the largest purses of the year on the final full weekend before the field is set for the 2021Wrangler NFR. FromOdessa, Texas, to Pendleton, Ore., the ProRodeo Tour has made 55 stops in 2021 with contestants earning points based at each stop. Now, the top 24 in each event from those ProRodeo Tour standings will head to the central coast of California to finish out another electric year in ProRodeo.
