a car wreck in 1963. By 1995, Click was back at the rodeos, but this time it was around the kids of guys he used to compete against. Click got his PRCA card as a photographer in 1996. By 1997 he was shooting his first Wrangler National Finals Rodeo for a news service. He went on to photograph every Wrangler NFR through 2014, a total of 180 performances for three news services. The last rodeo Click shot was the 2021 Ellensburg (Wash.) Rodeo. James LeRoy Roeder, who was involved in the PRCA, as chairman of the National Grievance Review Committee in Colorado Springs, Colo., passed away Aug. 31. He was 77. Roeder was born in Seymour, Ind., on April 23, 1944. He was the firstborn son of John and Eva Roeder. He graduated from Seymour Senior High School in 1962. While in high school he earned nine varsity letters in football, basketball, and track. After graduating from high school, he attendedWabash College in Crawfordsville, Ind., where he received a four-year athletic/ academic scholarship. In 1965, Roeder married Babs Bailey, his high school sweetheart. They had a successful marriage for 56 years. new job adventure with Arvin Industries. In 1971 their son, Brad, was born. In 1972, Roeder embarked on a very successful business and legal career. He graduated from McGeorge Law School in Sacramento, Calif., in 1976. He practiced law as a private attorney until 1985, when he was appointed by Gov. Dukemejian to the Placer County Superior Court. He served in that capacity until 2005 when he retired. When he retired, he started the Roeder Cattle Company, which he continued to operate and enjoy until his death. Roeder is survived by his wife, Babs, daughter Lisa (Caine), son Brad (Keri), granddaughters Elizabeth Sussman and Makenzee Roeder. He is also survived by his brother Max (Connie), and nephews Scott, Jason, and Brett Roeder along with their wives and children. Memorials may be made to Plumas Sierra Cattlemen’s Association P.O. Robert (Bob) G. Click, a 25-year photographer in the PRCA, passed away Sept. 7 inWashougal, Wash. He was 84. Going from

competitor to photographer made shooting rodeos a family affair for Click.

The 2010 PRCA Photographer of the Year primarily shot in the RAM Columbia River Circuit and occasionally in California.

Click grew up on a farm near St. Helens, Ore. As a contestant in the 1950s, Click would take a “cheap Kodak” along and take photos of friends, since most rodeos didn’t have a photographer. Click served in the Navy before joining the Rodeo Cowboys Association as a bull rider and bareback rider. He also worked for a telephone company while competing in rodeo.
