spot in the tie-down roping, but also bumped him into the Top 15 in the PRCA | RAM World Standings, with hopes to secure a qualifying spot for the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo presented by Teton Ridge. For Hiatt, this win was significant, as it was his fastest time this season and came at a crucial point in the year. “It was one of the last and bigger rodeos of the year,” Hiatt said. “It was nice to get to something that added over $10,000 and get some good money in there.” With the season winding down, this victory couldn’t have come at a better time. His 6.9-second run was enough to edge out Macon Murphy, who finished with a time of 7.0 seconds. Hiatt walked away with a payout of $4,474, but more importantly, he solidified his position in the standings as the season nears its end. Despite the intensity of the competition and the stakes at this stage of the season, it hasn’t affected Hiatt’s performance. A six second effort is nothing to scoff at. “It was fast. I’ve been six a few times, but it sure happened at a good time,” Hiatt said. His ability to stay composed under pressure has been a key factor in his steady climb up the rankings. For Hiatt, the goal has always been about consistent execution rather than getting caught up in standings or paychecks. “I’ve just been trying to go rope and let everything fall how it falls,” Hiatt said. “I don’t worry about the standings until the last day of the season.” As the rodeo season heads toward its final stretch, Hiatt’s performance in Albuquerque puts him in a strong position. His 6.9-second run, one of the fastest of his career, came at the perfect time, giving him the momentum he needs to finish the season on a high note.
