ProRodeo athletes to win money in Walla Walla, 29 were ties. Saddle bronc rider Sam Harper (pictured at right) split the win with Jake Watson. Harper posted an 85-point ride on Brookman Rodeo’s Flirtacious. Harper has earned $29,717 this season, a career best for the cowboy from Paradise Valley, Nev.

World Standings, Harris was ninth in the Sept. 4 world standings with $87,540. “It’s been a good season, but it’s not easy doing it day in and day out,” Harris said. “It’s been exciting and I’m just trying to enjoy the process.” Harris qualified for the ProRodeo Tour Finale in Puyallup, Wash., Sept. 5-8. Sitting ninth in the world standings and knowing he’s on the verge of making his first qualification for the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo is something the 2017 PRCA | Resistol Rookie of the Year is still wrapping his head around. “It’ll be a dream come true to run my first calf in that building (theThomas &Mack Center),” Harris said. “It’s something I was hoping and dreaming and working toward, but it’s hard to know that it’s a reality.”
