Rookie Kal Fuller can cross a couple items off his list in his short time in ProRodeo. The 19-year-old team roping header from Bozeman, Mont., broke the 4-second mark for the first time and in the process won the Kitsap Stampede in Bremerton, Wash., a ProRodeo Tour event. He and heeler Kasper Roy stopped the clock in 3.4 seconds to earn the win and $4,867 each. Their time was one-tenth of a second off the ProRodeo record of 3.3. “It was awesome because I’ve never been 3 (seconds) in my life ever,” said Fuller, who is leading the PRCA | Resistol Rookie Standings in heading. “It was pretty cool,” said Roy, 26. “I’d never been that fast before, and getting that close to the world record was pretty neat.” With a month left in the regular season, Fuller is close to nailing down Rookie of the Year honors. “That’s been the main goal,” he said. “So it feels good.” In addition to posting a personal-best run, Roy is also well above his personal best for a season in earnings with $25,944. “It’s awesome, he said about winning in Bremerton. “Anytime you get a win it’s nice, and when it’s a big one like that it’s even better.” Fuller, Roy post 3.4-second win
