ALL AMERICAN SERIES FINALS

BY TRACY RENCK W hen Chase Brooks saw his draw – Pickett Pro Rodeo’s Delta Dawn – for the finals of the All American Pro Rodeo Finals presented by PendletonWhisky, he knew he had to seize the moment. He did. Brooks had an 89-point ride on Delta Dawn to win the title in his inaugural appearance at the rodeo. “This was crazy,” said Brooks, 24. “I heard a lot about that horse, so I knew she was going to be a bucker. She ripped my tune about every jump, and I was kind of scared, but it worked out. It was exciting to be down here and a lot of fun.” Brooks tied the All American Pro Rodeo Finals record with his ride. He shares the record withWade Sundell (twice in 2009, on Universal Rodeo’s Whiskey in the first round and on Golden Buckle Rodeo’s Special Time in the final round) and Cody Wright (twice in 2011, Pete Carr Pro Battling Brooks Saddle bronc rider Brooks matches All American record

BREDING ADDS ALL AMERICAN PRO RODEO FINALS WIN TO RÉSUMÉ Once again, the moment was not too big for bull rider Parker Breding – not at all. The Edgar, Mont., cowboy captured his inaugural All American Pro Rodeo Finals title with his 87-point trip on Andrews Rodeo’s Rank Hank in the finals. “I was actually 89 points on (Rank Hank) in the semifinals at San Antonio this year, and I really loved him that day,” Breding said. “He had about the exact same trip (Oct. 13), but he got me a little bit to the outside when he went back to the left. It was everything I could do to stay up there. “It felt like he was bucking a little harder than that first time I rode him this year. When he went back that other way, he did it a little quicker and got

my feet fromme. I couldn’t feel him. I was looking at the lights trying to hang on.” Now in his career, Breding has won the RAMNational Circuit Finals Rodeo three times – 2014, 2016 and 2018 – and the Justin Finale at the Washington State Fair Pro Rodeo in Puyallup to claim the Wrangler PRORODEO Tour crown Sept. 9. The bulls were getting the best of the riders inWaco, evidenced in the nine-man semifinals when no one made the eight-second whistle. Elliot Jacoby, Lon Danley, Tristan Mize and Breding moved on to the finals, but Jacoby, Danley and Mize proceeded to get bucked off, setting the stage for Breding. “There are a couple of ways to go into it (the finals),” Breding said. “If you go into it thinking about the fact you have to stay on because of all this money, then it seems to get to a guy. “But coming back and having that bull (Rank Hank), I tried to just shut everything out of my mind and just relax and have fun, and that’s exactly what it took.” Breding departed the All American Pro Rodeo Finals with a rodeo-best
