Cowboy Channel sponsoring racer Richard Childress Racing announced The Cowboy Channel, the official network of ProRodeo and the first 24-hour television network totally dedicated to Western sports and the Western lifestyle, has partnered with RCR for the NASCAR Cup Series race at Watkins Glen International at 3 p.m. (ET), Aug. 8. Two-time NFR saddle bronc horse Spider passes

Saddle bronc horse Spider, a two-time National Finals Rodeo selection from Bailey Pro Rodeo, passed away July 26. He was 26. “He had coliced after he bucked in (Nampa, Idaho),” said Brandee Moore of Bailey Pro Rodeo. “I don’t know if his out did it and it just intensified. We treated him and did everything we could do, but we lost him.” Spider’s last two outs were at the Snake River Stampede in Nampa. Spider also was the 2017 Badlands Circuit Saddle Bronc Horse of the Year. Spider lived on a ranch in Karlsruhe, N.D., for the last several years with Moore and Shane Gunderson. The 23rd Rodeo Clown Reunion, held every other year, will take place Aug. 6 at the ProRodeo Hall of Fame in Colorado Springs, Colo., and Aug. 7-8 at the Douglas County Fair and Rodeo in Castle Rock, Colo. There are 43 retired clowns, barrelmen and bullfighters registered to attend. On Aug. 6 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (MDT), there will be vintage rodeo clown acts performed throughout the day. There also will be a Q&A session, trick roping, magic acts, clown face painting, ‘Dress up like a Rodeo Clown’ for kids, photos with clowns and autograph sessions. A food truck also will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. On Aug. 7 at Douglas County, rodeo clowns will be at the mutton busting, tractor pull and pie-eating contest.
