Sam Boyd came to Las Vegas with $80 in his pocket in 1941 and worked his way up from dealer to casino owner. To help bring the NFR to town, Sam sponsored the All

Around Cowboy trophy and bought tickets – lots of tickets – which he and his son Bill personally gave away to customers at their casinos. Boyd Gaming is proud to honor its co-founders’ community spirit and interest in rodeo by sponsoring the Wrangler NFR contestant entry fees, opening ceremonies, fan cam and championship saddles. In addition, three Boyd properties are official WNFR host hotels.
