In 1978, he moved to Stephenville, which is where Ed Galemba Saddle Shop is still located. In 1995, Galemba took up team roping. Galemba was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving partner of 24 years, Margo Peters and her son, Ross Beaver, and daughter, Temi (Josh) Nichols and their children Kayle and Colby; grandchildren Emma, Jay Riley and Nathan Beaver; Ed’s sister, Evelyn Pravecek and her children, Lawrence (Candy) Pravecek and their children Madison and Benjamin; Tasha Pravecek and son, Zakhar; Jennifer (Robert) Daniele and their children Audrey, Charlie, and Owen; Samantha (Bill) Giugno and their children Zachary, Alexander, Gwenyth and Gavin; Ed’s stepsonWade (Vicky) Greenough and their daughter, Hailly. EDWARD RAYMOND GALEMBA Edward Raymond Galemba, of Stephenville, Texas, a two-time qualifier for the National Finals Rodeo in steer

wrestling in 1968 and 1970, passed away May 15 in Fort Worth, Texas. He was 79. Galemba was born April 29, 1940, in Bridgeport, Conn., to Edward A. Galemba and Loretta Swierczewski Galemba.

Galemba attended St. Michael’s Catholic School in Bridgeport, Conn., in grades first through eighth. He was a graduate of Fairfield Preparatory School in 1957 in Fairfield, where he played football and pole vaulted. His senior year they won the state championship in football. In 1959, Galemba attended South Dakota State University on a football scholarship and competed in pole vault. He graduated with an associate degree in Animal Husbandry. In 1961, while working on a ranch for Stanley Johnson in Ree Heights, S.D., Ed learned steer wrestling under the tutelage of steer wrestler Willard Combs, a three-time qualifier for the NFR (1959-61). Galemba joined the Rodeo Cowboys Association in 1964 and quickly rose in the steer wrestling ranks. He qualified for the NFR in 1968, finishing 10th in the world standings.
