PRCA Business Journal - February 2, 2024
STOCK CONTRACTOR EXECUTIVE COUNCIL REPRESENTATIVE RENO ROSSER My name is Reno Rosser and I accept this nomination. I am a proud 2nd generation Rodeo Producer and PRCA Stock Contractor, based in the notoriously challenging political climate of California. Rodeo is not simply my job or a hobby but is a 70-year family legacy that is constantly under attack in California. Despite rodeo’s resurgence and increasing popularity, we still fight weekly to maintain our western way of life on the West Coast. As the efforts to “cancel” our sport continues to brew on the West Coast, I fear that if our leadership fails to seek an innovative and agile approach in navigating these changing landscapes, it will only be a matter of time until these challenges spread to the rest of the rodeo world, leaving the future of our sport uncertain. With your vote, I plan to continue fighting on behalf of all Stock Contractors across the United States and bring integrity and transparency back to our Stock Contractor Executive Council and membership. Thank you for your consideration and support. KIRSTEN VOLD The reason that I feel that I would be a good candidate for this position, is because the rodeo stock contracting business has fed me and kept a roof over my head, my entire life. I am a firm believer that you can’t just take, and not give back. Serving on The Executive Council would allow me to do that. I would like to contribute my time to help put emphasis on the large role the stock contractor plays in the sport of rodeo and its rapid growth. WADE SANKEY TJ KORKOW BINION CERVI STEER ROPING EXECUTIVE COUNCIL REPRESENTATIVE DON ED EDDLEMAN I would like to thank the PRCA Steer Ropers that nominated me for the Steer Roping Director on the Executive Council. I believe we have a great opportunity as steer ropers to sustain the progress we have made in the last few decades at the PRCA rodeos. The NFSR has a record payout each year and the addition of the Legacy and Permit Finals just adds to the participation in the event. As Director I will do my best to make sure we address the issues that arise due to our limited resources with cattle and rodeos. I will work alongside Committees, PRCA Judges, Stock Contractors, Sponsors, and All steer roping contestants to help promote the sport for the next generation. Thank you - Please Vote MARTIN POINDEXTER I’m honored to have been nominated as a candidate for Steer Roping Executive Council Representative. I am willing to serve in this capacity primarily because of my life-long love of the sport of rodeo in general, and of steer roping in particular, and not for any personal agenda. If I’m elected to serve, I promise I will be dedicated to promoting PRCA steer roping through working closely with all the rodeo committees, and I will communicate effectively with PRCA members, officials, and stock contractors to make our event the best it can be for all. I have the time available to be present at most rodeos throughout the year, and I will be hands-on and proactive. If chosen, I will work hard to serve steer ropers. Thank you for your consideration. TONY REINA I am Tony Reina and I am interested in running for the position of the Steer Roping Executive Council. It is an honor to be nominated for this position. As a member of the PRCA since 1994, I am a gold card member and although I do not make a habit of listing my accomplishments and accolades, but I will do so now. 17 times Texas Circuit finalist (CR & SR), 1999 NFR calf roping qualifier, 5-time NFSR qualifier and 2013 avg. winner, 2012 Texas Circuit Finals Champion Steer roper. I have also served as board member for the YRA of Texas as well as the president for 9 years. I have served on the board of the Texas Circuit for 11 years as a Timed Event representative and the last 3 years as the President of the Circuit. I feel that I have enough rodeo, business, and people experience to do the best job possible for our event. I am interested in promoting, protecting, and supporting our event of steer roping. I also feel like there is some adapting to be done in our event to better accommodate rodeo today. Our event is made up of some of the best cowboys and horsemen in the industry and it is truly a cowboy sport where our values are worth something. I am honored to be a part of this group of men. I thank you for your consideration of this position and once again I am honored to be nominated by my peers. Thank you and God Bless.
