2024 Rules – Expedited Change R9.5.6 Only Dry Rosin Allowed. Dry Rosin may be used on chaps and saddle. Anyone using excessive rosin or any other foreign substance, in the sole discretion of a rodeo judge, shall be fined $250 for the first offense, $500 for the second offense, $1,000 for the third offense, and a 30-day suspension and $1,000 fine for the fourth and subsequent offenses within a given rodeo year. The judges will examine clothing, saddle, and rein and spurs. (B Harter 11/23) Adopted as amended by BOD 12/23 Expedited Change B8.3.1 Minimum Performances. All riding event livestock selected for the NFR must have been drawn for competition a minimum of eight times outs at PRCA rodeos events during the Rodeo Year for which the NFR is being held. An animal selected for bareback riding or saddle bronc riding need only have been drawn for the minimum eight competitions outs in these two events combined. If an animal is drawn for competition but turned out for any reason by a contestant, including notified turnout, non-notified turnout, doctor’s release, visible injury or draw out, it will count as an out. If an animal is drawn for competition but removed by the stock contractor for any reason, including sickness, injury or lameness, it will not count towards the minimum number of outs. Animals selected as first reride will count towards the minimum number of outs. All other rerides will not count unless that animal is competed on at the rodeo in which it was selected as a reride. Outs at the previous year’s NFR, will not count toward the minimum number of outs. All riding event livestock minimum performance requirements must be met by the end of the Rodeo Year in order to be selected. A Stock Contractor qualifying to bring selected riding event livestock to the NFR under paragraph B8.3.2 below may bring only Eligible Livestock. ENTRY FEE INCREASE $10 per card holder drawn out. No entry fee increase. All permits will be accepted first. If the number of permit entries exceed the limit, a random draw will determine which entries will be accepted. If there are remaining available positions after all permits are accepted, a random draw of all circuit entries will fill the remaining positions. If there are still remaining available positions, a random draw of all other entries will fill the remaining positions. At one performance rodeos, all circuit permits will be accepted first. If there are still remaining available positions, a random draw from all permits entered will fill any remaining available positions. If there are still positions avail able a random draw from all circuit entries will fill the available positions. And finally, if there are still remaining available po sitions, a random draw of all other entries will fill any remaining positions. No exemptions.
