PRCA Board of Directors’ Policy for Timed Events at Limited Entry Rodeos Ending on or before June 15, 2021

B10.1.5 states: Limitation on acceptance on contestant card members. Other than the National Finals Rodeo, the National Circuit Finals Rodeo and any Circuit finals Rodeo, a rodeo must be open for competition to all Contestant Card Members, unless specific limitations are set forth in the application for approval and are approved by the Director of Rodeo Administration and the Event Representative . Given the situation created by the Covid-19 pandemic, many rodeos are requesting limited entries due to restrictions imposed by governmental authorities on the number of people that can be present, the lack of volunteers, and financial constraints. The rodeo committees and the event representatives are encouraged to work together to come to an agreement regarding a reasonable number of contestants given the situation of the individual rodeo. In the event the rodeo committee and event representative(s) cannot come to an agreement regarding what constitutes a reasonable number of contestants, the Director of Rodeo Administration shall attempt to mediate an agreement between the parties regarding limited entries. In the event the parties are still not able to come to an agreement, the following formula will be instituted for rodeos ending on or before June 15, 2021. 1) The DRA may approve a limited entry request based on a 3-year historical average of entries (2018, 2019, 2020) in an event plus 30% 2) If the determined limit is less than 100 contestants in an event, the committee will not be required to have 1 animal for each contestant 3) For rodeos that have a base purse of $3,000 or less and are approved with limits, qualifications will be based on circuit contestants first. a.
