FIRST-EVER XTREME STEER WRESTLING EVENT SET FOR LATE MARCH The Rank 45 Xtreme Bulls and Broncs tours in the PRCA have grown exponentially in popularity over the course of the past two seasons. More money is being pumped into the standalone roughstock events, with major rodeos such as Cheyenne Frontier Days jumping on board last summer. Now, Cedar Gap Wealth Management, with the help of five-time PRCA Steer Wrestling World Champion Luke Branquinho, is introducing a new event into the Xtreme series: Bulldogging. “You can look back over the last several years, they’ve had Xtreme bull riding standalone events and they’ve had
the Xtreme broncs. If you’re going to take single events and have big money up and have it count towards the world standings, there’s no reason why you can’t do it in all the events,” said Branquinho, a ProRodeo Hall of Famer. “I think it’s long overdue to be able to have the steer wrestling and I think it’s just a great opportunity for cowboys to have a chance at more money and to maybe help the younger guys who are needing some qualification money.” The Cedar Gap Wealth Management Xtreme Bull dogging Finals are set to take place March 27 and 29 in Abilene, Texas, shortly after the conclusion of Rodeo Houston, one of PRORODEO’s premier events during the Texas swing. A qualifier will be held March 27, with the finals taking place on the 29th with $100,000 on the line. The vision for the first-of-its-kind event began months
