WILL LUMMUS CONTINUES WINNING WAYS AT THE HORSE HEAVEN ROUNDUP

W ill Lummus is no stranger to big moments, and the 33-year-old steer wrestler from Byhalia, Miss., deliv ered again at the Horse Heaven Roundup Rodeo Aug. 22, capturing both the short round and the average titles with 11.8 seconds on three head. For Lummus, who entered Kennewick as the No. 1 bull dogger in the PRCA | Bill Fick Ford World Standings, the victory was a combination of opportunity, horsepower and timing After advancing through the early rounds, he turned in

a decisive short-round run aboard Finding Meno, also known as "Crush," the 2024 PRCA/AQHA Steer Wrestling Horse of the Year owned by Ty and Cierra Erickson. "I was on Crush, last year's Horse of the Year," Lummus said. "Our horses were up here in Coeur d'Alene (Idaho) last night, so Ty let me jump on Crush. I've been on him and had some luck - I won Sheridan (Wyo.) on Crush, and I've had some luck on him before in the past. He was gra cious enough to let me on, and it worked out for us."
