CODY DEVERS MAKES MOST OF OPPOR TUNITY IN MOSES LAKE O pportunity came knocking at the Moses Lake (Wash.) Round-Up Rodeo Aug. 15, and 30-year-old steer wrestler Cody Devers didn't hesitate to answer. After a few turnouts opened the door for more competitors in Washington, the Perryton, Texas, cowboy hustled from the Gooding (Idaho) Pro Rodeo. With a solid steer draw and confidence in his horsepow er, he seized the chance and walked away with a decisive win with a 3.7-second run. "We saw there were some turnouts and drove straight there," Devers said. "We knew we were going to have a rerun, which was pretty beneficial. I called a few guys, figured out what our steers were, and knew I had a good chance. My hazer, Marc Join er, did a great job, and once I caught him and laid him over, I knew it was going to be a pretty good check." By Kensie Darst-Todd Special to PRORODEO Sports News
