Pearson nets first RAM NCFR win

Tyler Pearson already has a gold buckle. Now, he’s added a RAMNCFR buckle to go with it. The 2017 Steer Wrestling World Champion clocked a time of 3.9 seconds in the finals in Kissimmee to win his first RAMNCFR title. “They were 3.8 on that steer earlier in the week, so I knew there was a good chance (to do well),” said Pearson, who was making his debut at the RAMNCFR in Florida. “I just had to hit the barrier and go do my job.” Pearson, of Louisville, Miss., had been to the RAM NCFR when it was in Pocatello, Idaho, but he hadn’t been to it in Kissimmee. Riding Scooter, the 2017 and 2018 PRCA | AQHA Steer Wrestling Horse of the Year, Pearson didn’t put any added pressure on himself. “Oh, no, you just have to go win,” said Pearson, 34. “You can make it harder if you want to. If you just back in there and do your job the chips will fall for you.” – Scott Kaniewski
