MCCOWN ON MEND Bull rider Parker McCown shared the win in Vernal with Sage Kimzey, picking up his first ProRodeo victory since returning to competition following shoulder surgery in December. McCown was injured at his first Wrangler NFR in December. He’s earned more than $10,000 in 2021 and is just outside the top 50.
RACE TO FIRST The two fastest times of the season in the team roping have been made by Clay Smith/Jade Corkill and Dustin Egusquiza/Travis Graves, the two teams who fittingly split the team roping in Vernal. Though they didn’t match the world record of 3.3 seconds as both teams have previously this season, their 4.5-second runs in Utah were good enough for $4,420 each and kept both teams in the hunt for the world titles.
Jesse Wright wins the Dinosaur Roundup Rodeo in Vernal, Utah, with a 91.5-point trip aboard Powder River Rodeo’s Bet the Ranch July 10. The win helped bump Wright into the top 50 in the world standings and 31st in the ProRodeo Tour Standings.
