Brazile earned $28,089 in tie-down roping during that time and another $11,904 with partner Patrick Smith in team roping. Saddle bronc rider Heith DeMoss, a nine-time qualifier for the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo, will be sidelined until at least December after having left shoulder surgery June 26. DeMoss, who qualified for the Wrangler NFR in 2007, 2009-11 and 2013-17, was injured right before the whistle on Flying U Rodeo’s Red Smoke, June 20, at the Reno (Nev.) Rodeo. DeMoss did have a 74-point ride on Big Bend Rodeo’s Owyhee Break at Reno one night later, but following that ride he realized his injury was something that needed to be repaired. “This is unbelievably frustrating,” DeMoss said. He dislocated his left (free) arm, tearing the labrum and breaking a piece of bone where his bicep ties into. During the surgery, a screw was inserted into the bone and the labrum was repaired. DeMoss had his surgery done by Dr. R. Pepper Murray at Mountain West Surgical Center in Bountiful, Utah. DeMoss won the three previous Reno Rodeos – 2015-17. DeMoss was 25th in the June 25 PRCA | RAM World Standings with $20,898. “Now, I’m strictly following the doctor’s orders,”

said DeMoss, 33. “I’m in a sling for four weeks and then I will attack the physical therapy. I’m going to do all I can to be ready to go for sure by January.” DeMoss, who resides in Heflin, La.,

finished a career-best fourth in the 2014 world standings. He has earned more than $1.2 million in his career.
