Robert (Bob) C. Marshall, a PRCA Gold Card Member and PRCA judge, and a former saddle bronc rider and team roper, passed away March 13. He was 75.

He is also survived by a brother, Art (Nadean) Clifton, and sisters, Brenda Peterson, Gloria (Donn) Dupper, Annette Hulm, Julie (Brett) Ellert and Patricia Wright. His gravesite is at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver. Marshall was born in Mobridge, S.D., Aug. 13, 1948, and departed and passed away in Boulder, Colo. He competed in every rodeo event but eventually decided on saddle bronc riding and team roping as his main events. In 1968, his rodeo career was interrupted by the war in Vietnam. Injured in combat, he was sent to Fitzsimmons General Hospital in Denver, Colo. Recovery at Fitzimmons, learning to walk again, lasted almost a year. He received multiple medals and a Purple Heart when enlisted in the Army. A humble man, most people did not realize that he had a disability from his war injury. The next years were spent in Greeley, Colo., while he obtained his bachelor’s in accounting. He really enjoyed working many years for his friend, Rick Lauridsen, in construction. Marshall is survived by his wife of 26 years, Vivian; daughters, Natalie Marshall and Colette (Renier) Deetlefs and stepson, Todd (Tonia) Forsberg.
