NFR as the defending bareback riding world champion. He left Arlington, Texas, seventh in the PRCA | RAMWorld Standings. He never made excuses, didn’t complain, didn’t whine. But Biglow wasn’t at his healthiest for the Finals. He was sick ahead of the 10-day event. He dropped weight. He wasn’t as strong as he normally would’ve been in his preparation to ride 10 of the best bucking horses on consecutive nights. Biglow might be putting those problems behind him. The Clements, Calif., cowboy won his first San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo title Feb. 27 after earning $11,700. He won the final round with a San Antonio record-tying ride of 93 points on Frontier Rodeo’s Gunfire. “It means everything,” said Biglow, 25. “This is pretty cool. Check that one off the list.” The ride was Biglow’s second 93-point ride of his career. It also tied for the third highest- scored ride in PRCA history and meant Biglow’s 2020 Finals were in the rear-view mirror. “Yeah, I was disappointed,” said Biglow, who was at his second rodeo of the 2021 season. “I didn’t do what I wanted. I learned so much over there. I got more out of that than winning (the world title in 2019), honestly. “(It was hard) having a weird year and not getting on too many horses. I got sick and lost a lot of weight. I wasn’t too healthy going into the Finals. I didn’t get that strength back until January. I’m not making excuses at all, but I learned a lot there.” Having the opportunity to rodeo in San Antonio was not lost on Biglow. “Just thank you for the committee,” he said. “They had the odds against them and were able to put on a heck of a show.”
