Casper earned $603,000 at the 2020 event, $53,000 of which counted toward the PRCA | RAM World Standings.

The impact of claiming a victory at The American last season was not lost on Casper, who went from trying to make ends meet with his wife, Lesley, and their two children to being on sturdy ground with his rodeo career after earning $603,000 – $53,000 counting toward the PRCA | RAMWorld Standings. “The American win helped my family and me get comfortable in life,” said Casper, 24. “For a while before that, we were struggling pretty bad to make ends meet, just having some bad luck. “Having a big break like The American changed our lives for the good. We got the money to do what we want and stay comfortable. I get to rodeo as hard as I want and not have to worry about them at home not being able to buy groceries or make payments, so The American is awesome.”
Finals Rodeo. Two of them went on to win world championships. The top cowboys in ProRodeo are headed back to AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, in search of more riches. They’ll be taking aim at life- changing money when they compete at RFD-TV’s The American, March 6-7. Last year, bareback rider Kaycee Feild, steer wrestler Matt Reeves, team ropers Luke Brown and Joseph Harrison, saddle bronc rider Wyatt Casper, tie-down roper Shad Mayfield, barrel racer Stevi Hillman, and bull rider Sage Kimzey each wonThe American and advanced to the NFR. Feild and Mayfield went on to claim world titles.
