BY JOLEE JORDAN, Special to ProRodeo Sports News J ustin Yost doesn’t remember a time when he didn’t have a rope in his hand. While that story isn’t uncommon among PRCAmembers, it might be a little more surprising for Yost considering he grew up in Mount Morris, Pa. “It’s definitely more buggies,” Yost said with a chuckle and a

nod to Pennsylvania’s large Amish communities. Yost caught the roping bug from his parents, Duane and Judy, learned the basics fromDan Minick and later spent two summers with horse trainer Nat Stewart in Indiana. As a youngster, Yost played basketball and football but decided roping might be a more worthwhile use of his time after earning more than $14,000 in the finals of another organization as a teenager in 2002.
