The number of cowboys who have qualified in four events at the National Finals. The short list consists of Dale Smith and Trevor Brazile. They both qualified for the National Finals Rodeo in team roping – heading and heeling – and tie-down roping and steer roping at the National Finals Steer Roping. Smith was inducted into the inaugural ProRodeo Hall of Fame class in 1979 in Colorado Springs, Colo. Brazile will be inducted into the ProRodeo Hall of Fame on July 16. 3 The number of PRCA Steer Wrestling World Championships won by Steve Duhon. Duhon won his gold buckles in 1986-87 and 1993. Duhon, who qualified for the NFR eight times – 1986-89, 1992-94 and 1998, also clocked a 3.0-second time in Round 5 of the 1986 NFR. That’s tied for the fastest steer wrestling time with Bryan Fields’ 3.0-time in Round 6 in 2001. Duhon is being inducted into the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame on June 25 in Natchitoches, La. $14K The amount of money ($14,241) earned by Brody Cress at the World Famous Miles City (Mont.) Greg McDonald and I grew up attending the Buffalo Rodeo as children and have fond memories. It was an annual tradition for our families, during the ’80s. I remember the bunting across downtown Buffalo. “In addition to the expo the Buffalo Rodeo Association is hosting a business window decorating contest to help recreate the town’s enthusiasm for the rodeo,” Gretchen Kirchmann said in a press release. Western boutiques from North Dakota, Montana, Iowa, and Minnesota are bringing fashions and furnishings to Wright County. Historical rodeo memorabilia of the Buffalo PRCA Championship Rodeo, Barnes PRCA Rodeo company and Minnesota High School Rodeo Association will be on display. The community is welcome to donate memorable for the displays and share their memories.
Media Group are producing a new event in Buffalo (Minn.) during the annual rodeo that will feature Rodeo & Rhinestones, a Ladies Night Out, and five days of western shopping. The Buffalo PRCA Championship Rodeo is June 23-25. The western marketplace will take place in the Buffalo Civic Center, June 22-25. The event is free and open to the public from 2-6 p.m. (CT) daily. Boutiques and western businesses selling clothing, accessories, tooled leather goods, home furnishings, custom made jewelry and rodeo apparel are participating. Rodeo & Rhinestones will showcase a Ladies Night Out on Tuesday June 21 from 5-7 p.m. A limited number of advance tickets are available for $30. Rodeo & Rhinestones is an exclusive VIP event for all ages to attend. The ticket includes admission for early
