Treyson Antonick builds custom furniture

BY MATT NABER T reyson Antonick is the employee of the month, every month, even though he’s off rodeoing for large chunks of the year. The Overton, Texas, saddle bronc rider makes Western furniture at his own business, Heart XWestern Furniture. It’s a great way to earn money while being his own boss and setting a schedule that works around his rodeo career. “It’s impressive that he can support his rodeoing with his woodworking,” said friend and fellow PRCA saddle bronc rider Parker Kempfer. “He works hard at it and makes some really cool stuff.” Antonick’s first big furniture projects while in high

school were a bed and a coffee table.

“I did some small projects for family and friends, and I did better and invested in tools,” Antonick said. “It grew and grew, and now it’s a hopping side business. It gives me flexibility where I can have a job with my own hours while rodeoing.” What started as high school ag projects for Antonick turned into a source of income while competing in college rodeo and now ProRodeo. “I realized I enjoyed it and could put my headphones on and wind down and spend time sanding on a project as a relief from daily life,” Antonick said. “In the fall, the rodeos are local, and east Texas is great in the fall with Hempstead, IN THE SHOP
